Tillage Height Controller
i4M Depth Command has been developed to enable more efficient deep ripping based on soil types. The system consists of a tablet running the i4M Map command app that connects to an electronics module over Wi-Fi.
The system operates in two modes – logging and control. In logging mode, a sensor on the deep ripper records the height of the machine in operation. These passive height measurements can be used to infer soil types and to understand compaction based on the load placed on the deep ripper bar.
In control mode, the height off the ripper is hydraulically adjusted on the run based on a prescription height map. The prescription height map is sent to the tablet in the tractor cab via the i4M web server in the same way a prescription fertiliser map is transferred.
